Jewellery Hand Sketches Entry Guidelines

  • Each sketch should be at least 210 mm x 297 mm. Sketches must be mounted on an A4 size backing board.
  • All submitted sketches must be free of any watermarks, advertising text, logos, or maker’s marks and manufacturing marks, and these should not appear on the design or mounting board.
  • AI-generated images are not permissible.
  • Sketches must utilise Australian opal with a freeform and/or an undulating surface.
  • Judging will be based on creativity, and the innovative incorporation of opal is crucial.
  • High-quality workmanship and attention to detail are important.
  • Judges will look for unique and original designs.
  • Attention to detail and finishing quality will be key factors in the evaluation. Judges will also consider how well the entrant has incorporated the natural challenges of the opal into their design.
