Freeform Prestige Jewellery Guidelines

Freeform Prestige Jewellery Entry Guidelines

  • Designs can be modern, futuristic, or conventional. Jewellery must be practical and wearable. Must feature freeform/undulating Australian opal.
  • Any grade of Australian opals may be used in either category; however, they must be untreated, natural Australian opal.
  • Judging will be based on creativity, and the innovative incorporation of opal is crucial.
  • High-quality workmanship and attention to detail are important, and overall craftsmanship is vital.
  • Finishing Quality: A well-finished piece is essential.
  • Judges will look for unique and original designs.
  • Attention to detail and finishing quality will be key factors in the evaluation. Judges will also consider how well the entrant has incorporated the natural challenges of the opal into their design.
  • Trademarks or manufacturer’s stamps are strongly discouraged; however, if it’s practically impossible to exclude them at the time of manufacturing, they MUST be concealed by the entrant.
